Bio Diesel 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,
I make my own bio diesel and have now started offering short courses for anyone who has an interest in making their own bio.

It is not difficult but it is easy to waste a lot of time and money if you don't know what you are letting yourself in for.

The course lasts 3 ish hours and covers all the basics to enable you to decide if bio making is for you. It will also enable you to decide if you want to make your own DIY bio processor or buy one 'off the shelf'. If, after attending the course, you do decide to buy one then you will know what to look for .

If you want to know more then visit my site at jotec.co.uk and click on the bio link.

Dick

PS I don't sell bio ,processors or any other bio equipment.

Hi Dick

Many thanks for your information - interesting stuff!

Just out of interest - do you know of a online guide that lets you know which models of car are okay with Bio Diesel??

Thanks
Richard

I know of no definitive guide.

Theoretically all diesel cars can run on good biodiesel however with the more modern DI (direct injection) engines there are issues with the control systems and the pressures involved in the injection systems.

There is information out there but you have to look for your own model.
The manufactures will not give out information except don't use it as they don't want any warranty claims.

Looking on the bio forums is a good place to start. With some cars even if they can not run on bio they can run on mixes of bio and dino. (all pimp diesel now has 2.5% bio in it)

Incidentally biodiesel is processed vegetable oil, it is not veg oil that has just been thinned with a solvent. Real biodiesel is a methyl-ester, commonly referred to as RME or FAME (rape methyle ester or fatty acid methyl ester)
