The Polish Play is part village dance and part afternoon tea. This is the tale of a daughter who leaves Poland and comes to Worcester to start a career as a nanny. She is accompanied by her anxious father who worries about change and reminisces about the past. Using an accordion, home movies, Yuri Gagarin and the 1974 world cup finals, this is a story about belonging, growing up and our place in the world. “I was totally engrossed by this, as was the audience. It had a fresh, experimental edge to it. The young Polish actress had a spontaneous charm and the very talented accordion player brought the whole thing to life. It was an interesting mix of the real and the imaginative and I found it very moving and though provoking” (Sibyl Burgess – report for Artservice)
