The Marrs Bar serves up a pre-Christmas cracker with a festive feast of scorching soulful sounds to melt the dance floor with the return of the sensational DC Fontana the UK's leading northern soul band. Led by the enigmatic London-based chanteuse Tina Stevens, the DCs have gone from strength to strength and with a year of hectic gigging all round Europe behind them they intend ending 2007 on a high in Worcester. In this funky pot pourri you will find soaring northern soul standing next to slices of 60s funk, beguiling mod-jazz, a splash of Jamaican skankin' rocksteady and even some Nu-Yorican Latin soul - it's potent sonic medicine! Powerful, punchy and yet soul-soothing, the band is already a well known name on the international mod and scooter scenes and sport a heft four-strong horn section, a hotter-than-magma Hammond (home-grown Worcester soul sauce don't you know!), flute, guitars, drums and the kitchen sink!
