100 Artists, 25 Venues, 1 Wonderful Weekend, 1 Wonderful City….1 Month To Go!

With just one month to go there is still time to be involved in the first ever Worcester Music Festival.  Whether you are in a band, a solo artist, someone willing to help run one of the many shows, a sound engineer, photographer or DJ, the Festival Organiser would still love to hear from you. Billed as “100 artists, 25 venues, 1 wonderful weekend….1 wonderful city”, the Not Just Sauce Worcester Music Festival aims to showcase the best of Worcester’s musical talent over 3 days, August 22, 23 and 24.

The Not Just Sauce Worcester Music Festival is the brainchild of Chris Bennion, who works by day at the Lea & Perrin’s factory in Worcester, and who runs www.notjustsauce.co.uk by night, Worcester’s guide to gigs, shows and events…hence the name “Not Just Sauce”!  The Festival will run as part of the Three Choirs Fringe Festival and approximately 25 venues are scheduled to take part so far including the usual music venues such as The Marrs Bar, Drummonds, Worcester Arts Workshop and Keystones, plus a whole host of smaller and first time venues such as The Pheasant, Bar 12, the Eagle Vaults, Cowardines, cafe Aroma, Smile cafe as well as The Tudor House Museum, Smile Vegan Cafe and many more.

There will be something for everyone on offer during the 3 day extravaganza and some of the exciting acts taking part will include Jules Benjamin, And What Will Be left Of them, Foxtail Soup, Pippa Jennings, Jamie Knight, Ten Fifty, Weak 13, Neil Ivison, Fury, The Donns, Anna Rice, Take The Fifth, Flo Rowland, and events by Fat Rat Promotions, iDLE Hands, The Little Hellfire Club, Driver Promotions, 1147am, B'Noyze, Poor Bob, BBC Hereford and Worcester, and Backstage Promotions to name just a few. Rock, Indie, Punk, Metal, Folk, Blues, Ska, Hip Hop, It's all going to be at the Worcester Music Festival and the majority of the shows are free entry.

The festival will be raising money for various charities including St Richard's Hospice, Acorns Children’s Hospice and the Headway Worcester Trust Ltd. The Festival Director is seeking  raffle prizes and donations for the Festival from local businesses, and is also still asking for anyone to come forward who may wish to be involved or help with the Festival in any way – no matter how small your involvement!

Chris Bennion, Festival Organiser, said: "It is the ultimate celebration of home-grown talent and it is great to see so many businesses willing help out and support live music. It proves people in Worcester love live music and hopefully we can give them what they want. “We have no idea how this festival will go. We have never done it before, Worcester has never had this before but with the help and support of all the bands, performers, promoters and venues, we are sure that it is going to be a weekend to remember."
